Unregulated businesses
There are two types of business activity in the Gewerbeordnung 1994, activities that require an entrepreneur to provide evidence of qualifications, and activities that do not. Business activities that do not require evidence of qualifications are called unregulated businesses (e.g. running a service station).
All businesses that are not classified expressly as regulated businesses in the Act are unregulated businesses.
Caution
In general, these rules also apply to entrepreneurs from EU Member States in Austria.
A list of unregulated commercial activities can be found on the website of the Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs.
