New Business Support Act (Neugründungs-Förderungsgesetz)

Up-to-date information about the Neugründungs-Förderungsgesetz, conditions for beneficiaries, tax and fee exemptions, formalities, etc.

Information for newcomers

The Neugründungs-Förderungsgesetz was passed to help reduce the cost of starting a new business or acquiring a business. A simple change in the legal form of a business does not make it eligible for support.

Caution

The start-up or transfer declaration ( NeuFoe 2) must be presented on or before claiming the support ( e.g. when registering the business. Charges, fees or contributions already paid will not be refunded if the form is presented afterwards.

If the support can be claimed from several authorities (for example the business authority, tax office, the court that keeps the companies register, the court that keeps the land register), the original declaration must be presented to each. If the declaration is made during e-start-up on the Business Service Portal, a signed copy can be sent to the relevant authorities or made available to them electronically (e.g. by uploading the PDF declaration in the form).

Caution

In general, these rules also apply to entrepreneurs from EU Member States in Austria.

Information about professional activities can be found on the website of the relevant chamber or the relevant professional body.
